Orkut in New Look

Yes Orkut will soon have a new look. This page flashed when I posted a scrap to one of my friends showing the new look of Orkut. This is cool baby. You can see that the new look looks good indeed.

If you don't see the new interface yet, here's how it looks like: colors are warmer, orkut has rounded corners, the new icons are lovely and there are even touches of AJAX. The conclusion: orkut is not ugly anymore.

Sony Ericsson K850i

The arrival of the Sony Ericsson K850i is expected by many in view of the handset’s top-notch functionality, as well as the 5 Mpix camera it retains, which is the top of the line solution in the Cyber-Shot range. Does this camera has something revolutionary to it and can it even have a claim for this title? To me, it is an evolution, when solutions previously experienced only with digital cameras are being carried over to handsets. In this model the manufacturer has focused on two major aspects – interface and ergonomics of the camera and also tweaked its performance in some modes. It wouldn’t be the right thing to expect this camera module to stand up to real digital cameras – lack of space for building in quality lenses is still the greatest barrier. If you are a maximalist and demand superior quality, than conventional digital cameras are worth looking at, since handsets will always be lagging a step or even several generations behind. It is quite another matter, though, when you want to squeeze out of your phone as much as possible. If that’s the case, then the Sony Ericsson K850i is the way to go..

TVS Apache RTR 160

The popular TVS Apache gets a big brother that has the CBZs and Pulsars quaking - the Apache RTR 160!

Matter of principle. King of the road, street scorcher, whatever - they are names reserved for motorcycles above 600 cc and should remain so. But if I come down to earth and look at Indian roads, there is a different world around. Here, we have little four stroke machines that do their own little bit of scorching and wheeleing, and in that world, it has its own little tyrants and knights. The Karizma, the Pulsar 200 DTS-i, the CBZ X-Treme, TVS Apache, Pulsar 150.. and that world has just got a new claimant - the TVS Apache RTR 160 motorcycle. Priced right against the other 150 cc models from other manufacturers at Rs 60,000 approx, the Apache RTR with its 160 cc will really be serious temptation for anyone looking for a 150cc category motorcycle.

TVS decided to up their game. And thus we have the TVS Apache RTR 160. Adding only 10 cc meant that the bike will still be evaulated against the Pulsar 150 DTS-i - its primary competitor - while beating it easily. Possible, as the TVS motorcycle still weighs some 7 kilograms less than the CBZ X-Treme and Pulsar 150. The Pulsar models have steadily seen upgrades in style, cowl, LCD speedos and LCD tail-lights, and the Apache was going to do all that - plus beat the Pulsar 150 DTS-i on the streets. And going by initial impressions, that is exactly the RTR 160 will do.
